Jawoyn Association Aboriginal Corporation new LDM Implementation Plan

On 10 May 2024, Jawoyn Association Aboriginal Corporation (JAAC) signed their new Local Decision Making Implementation Plan 2024-2026 with the Northern Territory Government. Developed under JAAC’s 10-year Local Decision Making Agreement, the new Implementation Plan (IP) is underpinned by the priorities of the Jawoyn Association’s Strategic Plan 2024-2034.

Led by Ms Lisa Mumbin, and Mr John Berto, JAAC’s Chair and CEO respectively, took place at Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge). The Hon Eva Lawler MLA, Chief Minister of the Northern Territory and the Hon Selena Uibo MLA, Minister for Local Decision Making attended, witnessing JAAC become the first organisation to successfully sign 3 agreements under the LDM Policy.

The LDM Implementation Plan 2024-2026 has four strategic priority areas - Pass on Our Culture, Empower Our People, Care for Our Country, and Housing and Civil Construction Expansion.

Some key actions of the new Implementation Plan are to expand the Banatjarl Strongbala Winum Grup operations, establish the Mungguy Mans Grup to increase health and wellbeing outcomes for men, continued delivery of infrastructure and civil works, and additional local training and employment.
