Signing off the Atyenhenge Atherre Aboriginal Corporation Local Decision Making Agreement

The Atyenhenge Atherre Aboriginal Corporation (AAAC) Local Decision Making Agreement was signed in Ltyentye Apurte (Santa Teresa) community on 17 July 2024.

A key component of the LDM will be the recognition of AAAC as the voice of the Ltyentye Apurte Community with the ability to act as the lead point of contact and decision-making for the community.
The Northern Territory Government (NTG) and National Indigenous Australian Agency (NIAA) have formed a partnership with AAAC. The agreement is a commitment to support the work of services returning to community controlled.
Phase 1 of the agreement focuses on four out of the five strategic priorities identified in their strategic plan:
- Organisation Governance and Sustainability
- Economic Development
- Health and Community Wellbeing
- Infrastructure and Assets
Focusing on their short term goals will empower AAAC to support their primary mission of a resilient, self-reliant and self-determined future.
